Common questions
Do I need a GP referral?
Yes, a valid GP referral is required for all psychiatry appointments to access Medicare rebates. Psychology appointments can be accessed with a GP Mental Health Treatment Plan, or self-referred as a private patient. We can guide you through the referral process if needed.
How does telehealth work?
All consultations are conducted via secure video through our practice management platform (Halaxy). You will receive a link before your appointment. All you need is a device with a camera and microphone and a stable internet connection. No downloads required.
What does it cost?
Halcyon Health is a private billing practice. You pay the full consultation fee upfront, and we submit a claim to Medicare on your behalf. The Medicare rebate is then deposited directly into your account. Detailed fees will be provided at booking.
Can I see both a psychiatrist and psychologist here?
Yes. This is one of our key strengths. Our psychiatrist, psychologist, and nurse practitioner work as a coordinated team. Your treating clinicians communicate directly about your care, so there are no gaps between medication management and therapy.
Do you offer ADHD assessments?
Yes. Halcyon Health provides comprehensive adult ADHD assessment, diagnosis, and ongoing management. Our psychiatrist conducts the diagnostic evaluation, the nurse practitioner manages medication titration and follow-ups, and the psychologist provides ADHD-focused coaching and skills therapy.
What funding pathways do you accept?
We accept Medicare (with gap), NDIS plan-managed and self-managed participants, WorkCover, CTP/motor accident schemes, and private payment. Medico-legal reports are billed directly to the instructing party.
